| Enjoy a book by the welcoming fire. |
Thanks to the Prentice family, we have another FTHA in Apalachin. The Prentice Homestead! This home was
originally built for and by the Jewett Family for Norman and Grace Prentice when they married and wanted to
reside in Apalachin. Grace’s father, being an excellent carpenter, along with Norm and other skilled workers,
built this home with loving attention to detail. Our residents and operator’s family will enjoy the fabulous
stone fireplace that sits boldly inside the home, and crackling fires will continue to warm hearts and feet
during the winter. The home is filled with beautiful honey colored woodwork, and shinning refinished oak
floors. The recently renovated galley kitchen retains the original cabinets built by Mr. Jewett. White
cabinets with splashes of burgundy make the coke theme kitchen inviting and bright. In the dining room,
gold and burgundy colored walls welcome one and all to sit at the large oak table and enjoy just brewed
coffee. (Or a coke?) Across the hall, the living room glows with warm, golden walls, and beautiful burgundy
accents. The home has a feel of the swinging 40s with a splash of contemporary pizzazz!
Conveniently located at 733 Pennsylvania Avenue, this beautiful home offers a huge back yard that runs all
the way to the Apalachin Creek. A large deck graces the back of the home and overlooks the lovely yard.
Think of the picnics!

| Our bright and airy bedrooms. |
Two Simi- private bedrooms rooms and two private bedrooms, all on the first floor, are available for our
residents. One semi-private bedroom, “the Sunroom” is located at the back of the home, has large sliding
windows and views of the back yard. The room is done in pinks and mauves and feels very open and spacious.
A full bathroom and a separate powder room are located near the Sunroom. The other three bedrooms are
located in the side addition. Here you will find “the Sea-side room,” with its feel of wind, waves and
white beaches, “the Lilac room” with lavender accents and flowers adorning its walls, and “the Iris room”
with blue walls and Iris flowers dancing along the ceiling. Two half baths are available for these residents
to share.
Come “swing” with the Homesteads at the Prentice Home. We are a savvy group and we all love to dance with
our residents to the swinging forties beats! Come join us!
